Hardware Specification

Processor:

Quad Core Intel Core i5 9th Gen 2.0 GHz or higher is highly recommended. 64-bit processor. More than 2 performance cores are required for video processing, or AMD Ryzen 5 Quad-core or higher (AMD Ryzenâ„¢ 2nd Gen or higher)

Memory (RAM):

8 GB (dslrBooth will be able to run with 4 GB RAM. However, it is recommended to have 8 GB RAM because the software is optimized to take full advantage of multiple cores. These optimizations will run better with 8GB RAM)

Graphics Card:
  • NVIDIA® GPU 2016 or newer with 4 GB capacity or more is highly recommended.
  • NVIDIA GeForce 1650 or higher with at least 4 GB dedicated VRAM
  • AMD Radeon RX 560 or higher with at least 4 GB dedicated VRAM

Operating System:
  • Windows 10 version 1903 (19H1 – May 2019) or higher or Windows 11 with latest updates.
  • Set power mode to Best Performance.
  • Display Resolution of 1920×1080 is recommended.
  • Touch screen is recommended for sharing features but not mandatory.

Note: Intel i5 Surface Pros 7 and 7+ do not have internal fans. Therefore, CPU throttling may occur causing lag especially during live view.

Not Supported:
  • AMD APU processors have issues working with high-performance multi-threaded applications like dslrBooth.
  • ARM and ARM64 processors such as found on Microsoft Surface X (Microsoft SQ1/SQ2 processors).
  • Intel Atom, Intel Celeron, Intel Pentium, and Intel Gold processors.

If you have a slower PC, dslrBooth might work for you but it will be slower. To make it run slightly faster, lower your camera settings to the smallest image size and set your template to 300×300 dpi. This will speed up processing.

DNP RX1HS

Advantages:

  • Print Speed Advantage: DNP printers are generally known to have very high print speeds, allowing you to print photos quickly in large quantities in a short time.
  • Print Quality: DNP printers produce high-quality prints with sharp details and vivid colors. Images produced tend to be long-lasting and fade-resistant.
  • Consumable Availability: Consumables like print paper and ribbon for DNP printers are relatively easy to find and available in the market.

Disadvantages:

  • Price Disadvantage: DNP printers often have a higher price compared to some other brands in the market, making it a significant initial investment.
  • Weight and Size: Some DNP printer models may tend to be heavier and bulkier, making them less portable and not suitable for photobooths requiring high mobility.
